Muscat, Oman

30th Oct. We docked in Muscat, where is located on the northern coast of Oman along the Arabian Sea. We really did not know what to expect of this port as Oman is not exactly a tourism hotspot. But were pleasantly surprised to find it extremely clean & very modern, even in its old city!
Here's a pic of me in front of our hotel; Al Maha which is located in Al-Ghubra. This hotel is 1.2 mi (1.9km) from Avenues Mall and w/in 3 mi (5km) of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Royal Opera House Muscat and Qurum Beach are also w/in 9 mi (15km).

Al Fayoum

We continued our journey to the oldest continuously occupied city in the world, Fayoum which is located in the middle of Egypt. We paid visit to the natural waterway of Lake Qarun, the 3rd largest lake in Egypt & it remains a mystery how it was formed. There are many myths, including stories that go back to the days of Prophet Musa. But one thing is clear: IT IS BEAUTIFUL. Besides, we went to waterfalls at Wadi Al Rayan & enjoyed their relaxing sight and took a dip in the Magic Lake set behind a set of sand dunes.
